Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted shortening
  • 12 wieners and sticks
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, dry mustard, milk, and egg in a bowl until well combined.
  2. Insert sticks into wieners if not already done.
  3. Dip each wiener into the batter, coating completely.
  4. Fry the coated wieners in hot cooking oil until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
