Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. oleo
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. grated onion
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 3 c. fresh broccoli flowerets, steamed until tender
  • 1 1/2 c. Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 1/2 c. grated processed Swiss or Cheddar cheese or a combination of both

Instructions

  1. Heat oleo in a small saucepan until melted.
  2. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, sugar, and grated onion.
  3. Add sour cream and stir until smooth.
  4. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture just comes to boiling point.
  5. Fold in steamed broccoli flowerets.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  7. Toss together Chex cereal and grated cheese, then sprinkle over the broccoli mixture.
  8. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for about 20 minutes or until bubbly.
