Refreshing and cooling cucumber raita with yogurt and spices, perfect as a side dish or accompaniment for Indian meals and grilled dishes, offering a burst of flavor and freshness.

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and grated
  • 16 oz. yogurt
  • 1 pinch turmeric
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • 1 pinch coriander powder
  • 1 tsp. mustard seed

Instructions

  1. Mix grated cucumber, yogurt, turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, and salt together in a bowl.
  2. Heat the oil in a small pan.
  3. Add mustard seed to the hot oil and cook until it starts crackling.
  4. Pour the hot oil and mustard seed mixture over the yogurt and cucumber mixture.
  5. Mix well and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
