- Soak cucumbers in lime water for 24 hours, then soak in clear water for 3 hours.
- Mix vinegar and sugar; tie spices and salt in cheesecloth and put in vinegar and sugar mixture.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Put cucumbers in the mixture and let soak overnight.
- Boil the mixture for 30 minutes.
- Add raisins and boil for 5 more minutes.
- Pack the pickles into jars and seal.
- Chill before serving.
