- Mix together the butter, sugar, egg yolks, salt, and flour to form a dough.
- Press half of the dough into a greased square cake pan.
- Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle the chopped nuts and chopped dates evenly on top of the jam layer.
- Cover with the remaining dough, crumbled or rolled out, to form a top layer.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) until light brown, about 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven, let cool, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Cut into squares before serving.
