Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sifted Martha White plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 3/4 cup red raspberry preserves
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  • confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sifted flour, baking powder, oats, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. Add melted butter and stir until well blended.
  4. Press half of the mixture into a greased baking pan to form the crust.
  5. Spread raspberry preserves evenly over the crust.
  6. Sprinkle chopped almonds over the preserves.
  7. Top with the remaining oat mixture, pressing lightly.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool, then dust with confectioners sugar before serving.
