Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ground nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix slightly the butter and 1/2 cup sugar until combined.
  2. Do not cream as for cake.
  3. Add the yolks of 2 eggs, slightly beaten, and the flour; mix well.
  4. Roll the dough into long finger rolls, then cut into pieces and shape into circles.
  5. Dip each circle in beaten egg white, then in a mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup ground nuts.
  6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10 to 12 minutes until golden.
