Tips & Substitutions

For a vibrant flavor boost, consider adding diced apples or walnuts for texture. If you don’t have horseradish, a dash of prepared mustard can provide a similar kick. Use sugar alternatives like honey or agave syrup for a healthier option. Make sure the Jell-O is fully cooled before adding the beets to prevent them from becoming mushy.

Serving Suggestions

This colorful salad is perfect as a side dish for holiday meals or picnics. It pairs beautifully with hearty dishes like roasted meats or can be enjoyed as part of a vegetarian meal. For a delightful dessert, consider serving it alongside a slice of Chocolate Truffle Cake for a sweet finish.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The salad can be served cold right from the fridge. If the cream cheese topping becomes too stiff, stir in a little extra milk to reach your desired consistency before serving.
