Tips & Substitutions

For a lighter texture, you can substitute half of the whole wheat flour with bread flour. If you don't have All-Bran cereal, you can use bran flakes or rolled oats as a substitute. Be sure to check the consistency of your dough; it should be stiff but not dry. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour gradually.

What can I substitute for molasses?

If you don't have molasses on hand, you can substitute it with an equal amount of honey or maple syrup. Keep in mind that this may slightly alter the flavor profile, but it will still yield a delicious bread.

How can I make this recipe gluten-free?

To make a gluten-free version of Danish Sesame Bran Bread, substitute the whole wheat flour and unbleached flour with a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend that contains xanthan gum. Ensure that your other ingredients, like the yogurt and yeast, are also gluten-free.
