Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped dates
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. cherries

Instructions

  1. Cream the Crisco and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until smooth.
  3. Add the chopped dates, chopped pecans, and cherries.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, soda, cloves, and cinnamon.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until well blended.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  8. Bake until brown.
