Sweet and nutty date dainties feature chopped dates, pecans, coconut, and crispy rice treats, making a delightful treat perfect for parties, snacks, or sharing with friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 to 4 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 bag coconut

Instructions

  1. Combine dates, margarine, sugar, and egg in a saucepan.
  2. Cook for eight minutes.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in chopped pecans and Rice Krispies cereal.
  5. Shape mixture as desired.
  6. Roll shaped treats in coconut.
  7. Let stand until cool.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
