Ingredients

  • 1 lb chopped dates
  • 1 qt chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 2 c sugar
  • 2 c flour
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Boil sugar and butter together and let cool.
  2. Roll chopped dates in flour.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla to the cooled sugar and butter mixture.
  4. Stir in the floured dates gradually.
  5. Mix in chopped pecans.
  6. Bake the cake at 250°F (120°C) for 2.5 hours.
