Ingredients

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar, egg yolks, melted butter, chopped dates, chopped walnuts, flour, dissolved soda, and vanilla until well combined.
  2. Pour the batter into a 9 x 9-inch greased cake pan.
