Ingredients

  • 16 oz. can pork and beans
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1.5 pounds deer burger or hamburger meat
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • Bisquick biscuits or 1 can biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Brown the deer burger or hamburger meat in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  3. In a pot, combine pork and beans, diced onion, barbecue sauce, and brown sugar, then bring to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat and transfer the mixture to a Dutch oven or ovenproof serving dish.
  5. Place small biscuits or half of a can of biscuits on top and around the edge of the mixture.
  6. Bake until the biscuits are browned, about 15-20 minutes.
  7. Turn off the oven heat and sprinkle shredded cheese over the biscuits.
  8. Remove from oven once the cheese has melted and serve hot.
