Deviled crabs features tender crab meat combined with a creamy, lemon-flavored sauce, topped with buttery bread crumbs. Perfect for seafood lovers and elegant casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • soft white bread crumbs
  • 1 pound white crab meat
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk and stir in enough soft white bread crumbs to make a fairly thick sauce.
  2. Add 1/2 stick butter, salt, pepper, and lemon juice to the sauce.
  3. Stir in the crab meat.
  4. Melt 1/2 stick of butter and stir in the dry bread crumbs.
  5. Fill shells with the crab mixture and sprinkle with the buttered crumbs.
  6. Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes.
