Ingredients

  • 3 eggs (save whites)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • cooked and browned 10-inch pie crust

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour into the sugar.
  2. Add cocoa, milk, and egg yolks; cook in double boiler until thick.
  3. Add vanilla and butter; cool.
  4. Whip the whites of eggs until stiff.
  5. Pour the cooled filling into the cooked and browned pie crust.
  6. Top with meringue and brown in the oven.
