- Mix yeast and warm water in a bowl and set aside.
- Heat cottage cheese without boiling.
- Add cottage cheese to the yeast and water mixture.
- Add remaining ingredients: sugar, butter, soda, egg, minced onion, dill seed, salt, and sifted flour.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
- Place dough on a floured board.
- Knead and shape into a loaf.
- Snip the top of the loaf.
- Grease the top of the loaf.
- Let rise in a pan until doubled in size.
- Bake at 350° to 375°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Excellent toasted.
