Ingredients

  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 to 1/2 stick margarine
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix first 4 ingredients together and let stand overnight.
  2. Add rest of ingredients, blending well, and bake in 6 (1 pound) greased coffee cans for 1 hour at 350°.
  3. Cool in cans.
