- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the sugar, cake flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Cream the butter, Crisco, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in vanilla and lemon flavorings.
- Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients alternately with sweet milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for approximately 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
