Decadent double-chocolate cookies featuring rich semi-sweet chocolate and crunchy pecans, perfect for chocolate lovers and great for sharing at gatherings or as a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a double boiler over hot, not boiling water, melt 1/2 cup of the chocolate morsels; let cool.
  2. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, and egg until light and fluffy.
  4. Add slowly the melted chocolate and 1/4 cup warm water.
  5. Beat in the flour mixture just until combined.
  6. Stir in the remaining chocolate pieces and nuts.
  7. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
  8. Drop by teaspoon onto baking sheets.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes.
  10. Cool on a rack.
