- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Butter and flour a large baking sheet.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl with an electric mixer, beat together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and beat until well combined.
- Stir in the flour mixture to form a stiff dough.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips.
- Divide the dough in half and shape each into a log on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until set and slightly cracked.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
- Slice the logs diagonally into 1/2-inch slices.
- Arrange the slices on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until crisp.
- Cool completely on wire racks before serving.
