Ingredients

  • 1 large skillet of cornbread, crumbled
  • about 6 leftover biscuits or slices of toast, crumbled
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 teaspoons sage
  • 1 stick melted margarine
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Add enough water to make the mixture very moist.
  3. Transfer to a baking dish.
  4. Bake at 350°F until light brown on top, about 30 minutes.
  5. If desired, add cooked chicken and top with gravy or cream of chicken soup, then bake until heated through.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped dried parsley before serving.
