Tips & Substitutions

To enhance the flavor, consider adding a pinch of smoked paprika or some chopped bell peppers to the onion mixture. If you're out of bacon, turkey bacon or pancetta can be good substitutes. For a vegetarian version, replace the bacon with sautéed mushrooms and use vegetable broth instead of the bacon drippings.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this Duchess Bean Casserole alongside a fresh green salad or some crusty bread for a complete meal. It pairs beautifully with Potato And Ham Casserole for a hearty family dinner. Consider offering a side of roasted vegetables or cornbread to round out the meal.
