Ingredients

  • 2 c. chopped onions
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1 1/4 c. catsup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 doz. franks

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onions in salad oil until translucent.
  2. Add catsup, water, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and dry mustard to the onions and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Cut the hot dogs into 1-inch pieces.
  4. Add hot dog pieces to the sauce and simmer for an additional 20 minutes.
  5. Serve with toothpicks for dunking.
