Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. shortening, melted
  • 1/2 c. rich milk
  • 1/2 c. cream
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 to 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Layer the ingredients in a baking dish as described, starting with the potatoes as the top layer.
  2. Sprinkle the top layer with parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dot the top with butter.
  4. Add 2 cups of water to the dish.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 3 hours.
