Juicy cabbage rolls filled with seasoned ground beef, rice, and onion, baked in tomato soup for a comforting, family-friendly dish with rich flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz) cans tomato soup
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Immerse cabbage in a large kettle of boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes or until leaves are limp; separate leaves.
  2. Mix ground beef, chopped onion, and cooked rice; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add one can of tomato soup to the meat mixture and stir well.
  4. Place about 1/4 cup of the meat mixture on each cabbage leaf; fold sides of the leaf to the center and roll the leaf around the filling.
  5. Place the rolled cabbage leaves seam side down in a baking dish.
  6. Pour the remaining can of tomato soup over the cabbage rolls.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour until cooked through and tender.
