Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 4 tsp. lemon juice or vinegar
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 c. white flour
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Mix whole wheat flour, white flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Stir milk mixed with lemon juice or vinegar gradually into the flour mixture until well blended.
  3. Spoon the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
