  • buttermilk
  • oil

Instructions

  1. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to a medium iron skillet and heat.
  2. Mix the self-rising cornmeal and self-rising flour in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add buttermilk to the mixture.
  4. Stir thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Pour the excess hot oil from the skillet into the mixture and stir in.
  6. Pour the batter into the hot skillet and bake in a 425°F oven until golden brown.
