Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan; set aside.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time; beat well.
  5. Stir in sifted flour until well blended; batter will be stiff.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Mark off into 20 squares.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of cherry pie filling onto each square.
  9. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes.
  10. Cool and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar before serving.
