Ingredients

  • 3 (6 oz.) packages cornbread mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 (16 1/2 oz.) can cream-style corn
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of shortening in an extra large cast-iron skillet.
  2. Mix all ingredients together: cornbread mix, eggs, chopped onion, cream-style corn, sugar, grated Cheddar cheese, and evaporated milk.
  3. Pour the mixture into the skillet with melted shortening.
  4. Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
