Ingredients

  • 3 lb. chicken
  • 1 loaf bread
  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 raw eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 small onion

Instructions

  1. Boil the chicken in 2 quarts of water until tender.
  2. Remove bones from the cooked chicken and cut the meat into medium-sized pieces. Reserve the broth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the toasted bread pieces, diced or sliced hard-boiled eggs, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the raw eggs.
  5. Layer the cooked chicken over the bread mixture in a baking dish.
  6. Pour the beaten raw eggs over the layered ingredients.
  7. Add the reserved chicken broth to the dish.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 45-60 minutes until bubbly and golden.
