Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 2 packets active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup soft margarine
  • 1/2 cup egg substitute
  • 4 cups sifted bread flour

Instructions

  1. Place warm water in a mixing bowl.
  2. Stir in yeast, sugar, salt, and margarine.
  3. Add egg substitute and 2 cups of flour.
  4. Combine ingredients with mixer at low speed until all are moistened, approximately 2 minutes.
  5. Add the remaining 2 cups of flour and blend until batter is smooth.
  6. Fill greased muffin cups a scant half full with batter.
  7. Allow to rise in a warm place until batter reaches the top of the cups, 30 to 40 minutes.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
