- Place warm water in a mixing bowl.
- Stir in yeast, sugar, salt, and margarine.
- Add egg substitute and 2 cups of flour.
- Combine ingredients with mixer at low speed until all are moistened, approximately 2 minutes.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of flour and blend until batter is smooth.
- Fill greased muffin cups a scant half full with batter.
- Allow to rise in a warm place until batter reaches the top of the cups, 30 to 40 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
