A hearty and cheesy baked lasagna with rich meat sauce, perfect for family dinners or entertaining guests, offering comfort and classic Italian flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 4 cups prepared spaghetti sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) box lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb. grated mozzarella cheese
  • boiling water

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef; drain excess fat.
  2. Add spaghetti sauce to the beef and mix thoroughly.
  3. Spread a thin layer of sauce mixture into the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Layer lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  5. Spread half of the remaining sauce mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with half of the grated mozzarella cheese.
  6. Add another layer of lasagna noodles.
  7. Top with the remaining sauce mixture and sprinkle with all but 1/4 cup of the remaining cheese.
  8. Pour boiling water into the edge of the pan to within 1/2 inch of the top.
  9. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 40 minutes.
  11. Uncover and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  12. Sprinkle the remaining cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking.
  13. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
