Ingredients

  • 20 oz. can pie filling
  • 20 oz. can crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine

Instructions

  1. Spread pie filling, crushed pineapple with juice, and brown sugar (if using) in a 9 x 13-inch pan in the order listed.
  2. Sprinkle yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit layer.
  3. Sprinkle flaked coconut and chopped pecans on top of the cake mix.
  4. Pour melted margarine evenly over all ingredients.
  5. Bake at 350°F until the top is golden and the cake is cooked through, about 30 minutes.
