Ingredients

  • 1 gal. whole dill pickles
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed firm
  • 1 Tbsp. whole peppercorn
  • 2 Tbsp. whole allspice
  • 2 1/2 c. cider vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed

Instructions

  1. Drain juice off of pickles.
  2. Combine garlic, vinegar, spices, and sugars in a pot.
  3. Bring to a boil; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add pickles and bring to a boil again.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Pack pickles into jars and cover with syrup, leaving 1/4 inch at the top.
  7. Process jars in hot water bath for 5 minutes.
