Ingredients

  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 4 white potatoes, diced
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 cup clams
  • 2 cups powdered milk
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 6 strips bacon
  • 3 tablespoons oil

Instructions

  1. Saute diced onions and celery in oil until tender.
  2. Add diced potatoes and 4 cups of water; simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Add canned clams to the mixture.
  4. Mix powdered milk with 1 cup of water in a separate bowl.
  5. Add the milk mixture, butter, and salt to the clam and vegetable mixture.
  6. Pour the mixture into an ovenproof dish.
  7. Garnish with cooked bacon strips.
  8. Serve hot.
