Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, Crisco, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Alternately add milk and flour, starting and ending with flour, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Add vanilla and almond flavors, mixing thoroughly.
  5. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours at 300°F.
