A creamy, festive layered dessert combining vanilla pudding, fresh strawberries, pound cake, and whipped topping with a hint of nutmeg, perfect for holiday gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (4 servings) instant pudding and pie filling (French vanilla or vanilla flavor)
  • 4 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tub (8 oz.) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 package (12 oz.) all butter pound loaf
  • 3 cups halved strawberries

Instructions

  1. Pour milk into a large bowl.
  2. Add pudding mix, 2 tablespoons of orange juice, and ground nutmeg.
  3. Beat with a wire whisk for 1 to 2 minutes until well combined.
  4. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  5. Gently stir in the thawed Cool Whip.
  6. Slice the pound cake horizontally into 4 layers.
  7. Sprinkle each cake layer evenly with the remaining 2 tablespoons of orange juice.
  8. Cut the cake layers into 1-inch cubes.
  9. Place two-thirds of the cake cubes in the bottom of a 2 1/2-quart straight-sided bowl.
  10. Spoon two-thirds of the whipped topping over the cake cubes.
  11. Top with halved strawberries and toasted almonds.
  12. Lay the remaining cake cubes and whipped topping over the strawberries.
  13. Garnish with reserved strawberries and almonds.
  14. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
