Ingredients

  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. oil
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, sugar, and salt together and set aside.
  2. Boil the oil, water, and cocoa together.
  3. Pour the hot mixture over the flour mixture and mix well.
  4. Pour the batter into cake pans.
  5. Bake at 325°F for 40 minutes or until done.
  6. While the cake is hot, pour frosting over the top.
