Ingredients

  • 2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. unpopped corn

Instructions

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt.
  2. Heat to boiling.
  3. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add baking soda and vanilla; mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour the caramel over the popped corn in a large bowl.
  6. Spread the coated popcorn on two jelly roll pans or one large roasting pan.
  7. Bake at 200°F for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool, then place in a covered container.
