Ingredients

  • 8 oz. uncooked macaroni
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. grated sharp cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. water

Instructions

  1. Boil macaroni in water until tender and drain thoroughly. Stir in butter and beaten egg.
  2. Mix dry mustard and beaten egg with 1 tablespoon hot water and add to milk; set aside.
  3. Add grated cheese to macaroni, reserving enough cheese to spread on top.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the casserole and sprinkle with the reserved cheese.
