Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. water
  • 1 c. softened shortening
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Beat the shortening, brown sugar, sugar, vanilla, water, and eggs until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix the flour with baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
  3. Blend the flour mixture into the shortening mixture.
  4. Stir in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
  5. Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
