Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound margarine
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • Pinch of cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Combine the margarine, brown sugar, white Karo syrup, soda, and cream of tartar in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for a few minutes until well combined.
  3. Pour the hot caramel mixture over 8 quarts of popped popcorn.
  4. Mix thoroughly to coat all the popcorn evenly.
  5. Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 1 hour, stirring occasionally if desired.
  6. Let cool before breaking into pieces and serving.
