Tips & Substitutions
For an extra kick, add more cayenne pepper or substitute some of the jalapenos with serrano peppers. If you prefer a milder chili, consider reducing the number of jalapenos or using bell peppers instead. You can also enhance the flavor by using homemade broth instead of water. Pairing your chili with Ralph Gragg'S Salsa(Makes Enough For All Of Your Friends) can add a delightful contrast.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the chili hot, garnished with chopped cilantro, diced onions, or shredded cheese for added flavor. It pairs beautifully with cornbread or tortilla chips for a satisfying meal. You can also serve it alongside Hot Chili Bean And Corn Salad for a refreshing contrast. Consider offering toppings like sour cream or jalapeno slices for guests to customize their bowls.
Storage & Reheating
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. To reheat, simply warm the chili on the stove over low heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through. For longer storage, consider freezing it in portions for up to 3 months; just remember to thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.

Can I use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef?
Yes, you can absolutely substitute ground turkey or chicken for the chili meat. This will result in a lighter dish, but be sure to adjust the cooking time as leaner meats can cook faster. Season well to ensure the flavors remain robust.
How can I thicken my chili?
