Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can red kidney beans
  • 1 can chili without beans
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can tortillas (11 oz.)
  • 1 cup grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and garlic in salad oil until tender.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in tomatoes, beans, chili without beans, salt, and pepper; heat to boiling.
  4. Cover the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch pan with tortillas.
  5. Pour half of the sauce mixture over the tortillas.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining tortillas and sauce.
  7. Top with grated cheese.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
