Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 2 large Tbsp. butter
  • 4 c. thinly sliced raw potatoes
  • 1 pkg. (1 lb.) cod or haddock fillets
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tall can evaporated milk (1 2/3 c.)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Saute the chopped onion in butter until soft in a kettle.
  2. Add the sliced potatoes, frozen fish, and water; cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until the fish flakes easily and the potatoes are tender.
  3. Stir in the milk, evaporated milk, and salt.
  4. Heat to boiling and serve.
