A savory fish ring made from tender baked fish with a flavorful anchovy touch, topped with hard-boiled eggs and served with a creamy sauce, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. halibut, cod or salmon
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. anchovy paste
  • a little salt
  • a little pepper
  • 1 c. bread crumbs
  • milk
  • paprika

Instructions

  1. Boil the fish; let cool.
  2. Separate the fish into small pieces; add bread crumbs and well-beaten eggs.
  3. Mix the ingredients well.
  4. Place the mixture in a well-buttered ring mold.
  5. Steam for 1 1/2 hours, or until firm.
  6. Serve with cream sauce and cover with hard-boiled eggs put through a ricer.
  7. Use green peas in the center of the ring.
  8. To prevent fish odor while cooking, squeeze lemon juice on both sides of the fish.
  9. Wrap the fish ring in wax paper and let stand in the refrigerator for 1 hour before cooking.
