Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • chopped nuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar in a mixer.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Mix in sour cream, flour, baking powder, and baking soda until well combined.
  4. Add vanilla extract and chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
  5. Grease and flour a large tube pan.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
