A hearty overnight baked egg casserole layered with bread, ham, and cheese, perfect for brunch or breakfast gatherings with rich, comforting flavors.

Ingredients

  • 16 slices white bread
  • 3 cups diced ham
  • 1 pound grated Cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place 8 slices of bread, buttered side up, in the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  3. Spread diced ham and grated Cheddar cheese over the bread slices.
  4. Place the remaining 8 slices of bread, buttered side down, on top of the ham and cheese.
  5. Beat the eggs, add the milk, and pour the mixture over the assembled layers.
  6. Cover the pan and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 1 hour.
