Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 4 squares chocolate, melted
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon peppermint, rum, or almond flavoring
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and powdered sugar together.
  2. Add melted chocolate and blend with a beater.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition for at least 1 minute.
  4. Mix in the flavoring (peppermint, rum, or almond).
  5. Pour the mixture into 12 paper-lined cupcakes.
  6. Keep in refrigerator until ready to serve.
  7. Decorate with whipped cream, cherries, slivered almonds, or crushed peppermint before serving.
